OneSim VoIP offers OneSimCard customers a cost-effective solution for international calls on their iPhone or iPads. Users need a reliable Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, or LTE connection and a VoIP-enabled Personal Extra Number (PEN) activated with OneSimCard. Users can choose between making calls via the OneSimCard SIM card or OneSimCard VoIP network, with calls through the VoIP network typically being more economical than standard international roaming rates. Incoming calls to the PEN can be received at low rates using VoIP when the device and app are connected online; otherwise, calls are directed through the SIM card.

The updated version 2 of the app introduces a texting feature, enabling users to send and receive texts (SMS) to and from US and Canada mobile numbers over Wi-Fi or mobile data at reduced rates compared to standard SMS sent over a roaming network.

The app functions independently of a OneSimCard SIM in the device but necessitates a OneSimCard account and a VoIP and SMS-enabled PEN. Users can configure initial settings for the app in the "My SIM Cards" section of their OneSimCard online account, where they can create a VoIP account by selecting the SIM card and following the provided link for iPhone or iPad settings.
